I believe the written word can be
a powerful tool to bring joy and inspire creativity.
A little more about me...
Writing…
I have loved writing since I can remember. Even when I am knee-deep in research wondering how it's all going to come together, I love producing something that I can hold in my hands (or read online). I hope my words bring insight, offer a new perspective or just inspire the reader to try something new.
Design…
After graduating from college with a BA in journalism and working for a few years, I decided to pursue my love for design by enrolling in design school. I loved my courses—from the basic drawing 101 class and color theory to drafting and programming. While I was unable to get my degree (sometimes life leads you down a different path), I learned a lot and appreciated every second. I stay in touch with the world of design through beautiful magazines like Dwell, The Magnolia Journal, Architectural Digest, and Livingetc.
Travel…
My childhood is a patchwork of memories from the various states my family and I have lived. I remember the dry plains of Oklahoma, the lush hills and trees of North Carolina, the heat and swimming pools of Texas, and the beautiful snowfalls of Wisconsin. I have landed in Illinois, right outside of Chicago. But my travels have continued.
I love immersing myself wherever I go—the almond orchards of California, geothermal spas in Iceland, ancient castles in Ireland, the lavender fields in Southern France, and cocoa farms in Ghana. Meeting new people, trying local cuisine, and learning about new cultures have left an indelible impression on me.
